Check This Stuff Out. Really.

This is what I read / watched online this past week that was noteworthy. I hope you check this stuff out. Really.

richard beck post

This post by Richard Beck, “To Make The Love Of God Credible.” I love this line: “God’s love becomes credible, more believable, when we love the world in the name of God.”

allison vesterfelt

This post by Allison Vesterfelt, “Becoming A Good Christian Made Me A Bad Person.” Wow, these lines from her post… “Where I used to be unsure of myself and my ideas about the world, I suddenly felt like I had a platform, a right, even an obligation to share my ideas with everyone. I was a child of God, after all, and the vision was becoming clearer day by day. There was a sense of urgency to communicate truth before we ‘ran out’ of time.”

tom little the hard places

This movie preview, “The Hard Places.” It’s about the story of Dr. Tom Little and it poses the question, “Does love risk all things?”

3 Comments to Check This Stuff Out. Really.

  1. I happened upon this TEDx video “Loving Your Lady Parts” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vKRj9yV8pI

I am a sucker for all things scientsy but specially psychology and biology.

Essentially, this is Being a Human 101 but it’s taken me 26 years to really learn how to take care of my body well and not torture it.

I’d recommend that everyone watch the video.

If we’ll bring things full circle to a more religious tone I’d say that I suspect there’s a way of living where showing the love of God and being in sync with our spirituality shouldn’t be forced and torturous. And I am determined to find that flow.

  2. I want to remember to tell people they are loved. And to be a nice person while being a Christian. Let’s watch that movie!
